FAQ – Batch Management

Batch management

Traceability is the foundation of modern beekeeping: you can always prove which harvest went into which jar — from which apiary, harvest year & moisture level. With BeeInTouch, you manage batches quickly, cleanly & audit-proof. That strengthens your business: more trust, clear evidence, and the perfect basis for showcasing regional quality.

When it comes to pricing, batches help you: by transparently showing origin, apiary & harvest data, you can confidently justify premium prices – unlike anonymous blends or imported honey without a story. Your customers see why your honey is worth more: genuine regionality, clear care & traceable quality.

Your marketing becomes even stronger when you combine batch management with an informative Apiary description. There, you can show images, site descriptions & special features – making regional origin visible and setting yourself apart from imported honey.

  1. Log in to BeeInTouch.
  2. In the main menu, open the section „Lager“ to start inventory management.

Step 2: switch to “Batches”

  1. In the section „Lager“, you’ll find the submenu „Chargen“.
  2. Click on „Chargen“ to see all batches and create new ones.

Step 3: create new batch

  1. Click on Plus-Symbol to start the creation process.
  2. Select „Eigener Honig“.
  3. The system shows you all honey harvests not yet assigned to a batch.

Step 4: add harvests to batch

  1. Group or filter as needed, e.g. by apiary (colony location), honey type (e.g. linden), harvest year, or colony.
  2. Mark all harvests you want to combine into one batch.

Step 5: create batch

  1. Select „Charge erstellen“.
  2. BeeInTouch automatically transfers variety, apiaries & colonies from the selected harvests.
  3. Optionally, you can upload an organic certificate or analysis results and link them to the batch.

Step 6: define batch data

  1. Batch number: Assign a unique number to the batch.
  2. Average moisture content: Calculated from the harvests; you can adjust it if necessary (e.g., after lab analysis).
  3. Best before date (BBD): Enter the best before date of the batch.
  4. Total weight: Summed from the harvests; adjustments possible (e.g., for clarification losses).
  5. Dokuments: Upload analyses, hygiene protocols, organic certificates or label layouts.

Step 7: finalise batch (optional)

  1. Please check all details carefully.
  2. You can finalise the batch immediately or later – once finalised, no further changes can be made (compliant with regulations).

Step 8: save

  1. Click on „Speichern“. The batch appears in the overview.
  2. Assigned harvests are removed from the list of available harvests as they are now part of the batch.

Filling and transferring – keeping your stock in sight

Filling the batch into a bucket

  1. In the menu „Lager“, select the batch and click „Abfüllen“.
  2. Select the container (e.g., bucket 40 kg).
  3. Enter the amount (e.g. one bucket with 12.5 kg).
  4. Save: The stock will be created & the filling will be recorded in the batch.

Bottling into jars (e.g. 250 g)

  1. In the menu „Lager“, select the batch and click {y}.
  2. Click on „Umfüllen“.
  3. Enter the quantity (e.g. 2 kg) and select the target container (e.g. 300 g jar).
  4. Set the number of jars (e.g., 6 jars of 250 g).
  5. Save: A new jar stock will be created, the bucket stock reduced accordingly – the batch assignment remains intact.

Prove regionality – confidently justify premium pricing

Tip: If customers can see the origin (photos, location details) and trace the batch, they immediately understand your value – ideal for direct sales, farm shops, and local collaborations. This clearly separates you from imported honey and supports your premium pricing.
